FEISOL Elite Tripod CT-3472 M2 Rapid

I chose the 3472 because I wanted a sturdier tripod for work not too far from my car, yet light enough I would still strap to my camera pack and walk a mile or two. This tripod is a beast and surprisingly light for its size. The base and leg diameter are very large. One of my first uses was a 6 minute long exposure over a bay with a stiff wind blowing into my face. The image remained sharp due to the stability of this tripod.

One issue to be aware of if you pair it with the RRS BH-55 Lever Release Style ball head: The lever will interfere with the FEISOL base when dropping the camera into the drop notch. This will not allow the camera to tilt the full 90 degrees to take a "portrait" format. My solution is to purchase a FEISOL 'L' bracket. Another would be to purchase a ball head with a screw knob rather than lever-release.
