All carbon tripods need to be maintained, especially when sand got inside the twist locks and carbon tubes. Don't wait until the tripod is destroyed!
Do the carbon tubes of your FEISOL Tripod not extended as smoothly as they used to, get stuck, or come out entirely? Are the angle locks not holding tight anymore? Do you hear a crunching sound in the twist locks? Are the carbon tubes scratching up from sand inside the tubes? Has it been too long since your tripod has been thoroughly cleaned and maintained?
Our Reconditioning Service is designed to help you with all these issues.
We will provide the service shipping address via email, once you placed the order.
Included are - this is a 1.5 to 2 hour job:
• The entire tripod will be taken apart
• Every single screw, spring, tube, twist lock cover, etc will be inspected
• All parts will be cleaned and flushed, inside and out, in 3 steps, with brushes and microfiber towels, degreaser, warm soapy water, and isopropyl alcohol
• All parts will be dried with compressed air
• All carbon tubes will be polished
• Any internal compression rings showing any wear will be replaced - usually all of them
• Every twist lock and angle lock will be lubricated with Lucas Oil marine grade grease
• All angle lock and thumb lever screws will be secured with blue Loctide threadlocker
• Small defective parts such as screws, springs and thumb levers will be replaced
• Final testing after assembly
Excluded are:
• Replacement carbon tubes
• Replacement main frames
• Replacement angle and twist locks
• Replacement grip foams
• Replacement rubber feet
If any non-included replacement parts are needed, we will contact you via email with a quote.
If you are missing rubber feet and want them added, please add the rubber feet to this order.

• Amount of internal compression rings - tripods with 2 leg extensions require 36 rings, tripods with 3 leg extensions require 54 rings
• Size of tripod - large tripods require more work
• If a center column - also requires more work
In average, this services takes a tech 1.5 to 2 hours. The included compression ring kit alone is worth between $39.95 and $44.95. After cost for parts, supplies, labor and other over-head, we are barley making any profit on this service. This offer is intended to be a service to our FEISOL community.
If the tripod doesn't match the order, we will either refund if too much was paid, or request payment via email for the missing difference.
Condition of your tripod
Please be aware that your tripod needs to be in serviceable condition. These are conditions that can't be serviced:
• Extreme wear of the carbon tubes to the point that the clear coating is destroyed or shows deep scratches. A cleaning will not fix this.
• Cracked or defect carbon tubes. We can replace one carbon tube if needed and will quote this via email. Small carbon tubes go for $39.95, large tubes cost $59.95. Tripods with more than one carbon tube defective will not be serviced, because other tubes will fail soon after due to no prior or proper maintenance, rendering this service not feasible. We also don't stock all parts in large numbers to make it possible to replace many parts on just one tripod.
• Extremely dirty tripods, especially when the inside of the legs is contaminated with grease. There should only be a very small amount of marine grade grease on the metal threads of the twist locks, the way the tripod was delivered when new, not inside the carbon tubes or on the internal compression rings. Cleaning the inside of the carbon tubes from grease would take several extra hours of work and that is obviously not covered with our service fee.
If you are not sure if your tripod can be serviced, please send us an email at mail@feisol.net and attached a few photos, showing the entire tripod as well as any defects, scratches, the internal compression rings and any dirt. We will get back to you with your best options.
If a tripod arrives in non-serviceable condition, we will notify you via email. Since it may be time for a new tripod, we can offer you a one-time discount for a new tripod, and apply the paid service fee to your new tripod, or we will send your old tripod back and refund the service fee. The shipping charge can't be refunded if you want us to send back your old tripod.

Please be aware that we can not be held accountable if your package gets lost, stolen or damaged in transit - either way. If you want signature-required and / or insurance on your shipment to us, please ship your tripod accordingly with these options. If you want us to use signature-required and / or insurance on the return shipment, please send us an email and we will send a payment request via email to you, with the exact extra cost charged to us. Insurance is usually $1 for every $100 of value, and signature-required is an extra $5.90. That being said, we didn't have a single loss so far.
This service does not include shipping the tripod to us. If we would included this, we would make a loss on this service. You can purchase UPS and USPS shipping labels with huge discount at pirateship.com. It only takes a couple minutes to create and print a label. At pirateship.com the average UPS ground shipping fee is only $10 to $15 for a 26" x 6" x 6" shipping box, weighting 5 pounds.
